- YouTube - Connie Talbot Singing On Ellen
i know this is already on yt but i had it on my comp ands its soo cute :) Connie is just amazing [:
No Connie Talbot is not a woman yet! She just turned 10 in fact!
There are some songs that I hated to leave out, but you can mention them at the bottom. I am not ranking them as the best singers or as the best songs, but rather looking at musical beauty, and angelic voices.Feel free to comment below!
15. The Cranberries- Linger
Delores and the back up singers sang their way through the heavens on this modern day classic! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6Kspj3OO0s
14. Pat Benatar-We Belong Together
Though Pat needed no help, the children's choir was a nice touch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxZInIyOBXk
13.Bette Midler -The Rose
The lyrics got this one onto the list. Bette knew how to hit the notes on this though. From a distance almost made this list as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIGPUBg8Ts8
12. Celine Dion-My Heart Will Go On
The Celine fans will be angry that it wasn't higher. I am not a Dion fan so just be happy that she is here and ahead of Pat Benatar! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGMuF90bpls&feature=fvst Remember, this list is not about how long a song stayed at number 1.
11. Twiggy-Rings
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xl5npZI1efQ&list=PL68993D44E1F175DB&index=2&playnext=2 I bet no one thought Twiggy would make this list. I think you will agree when you listen to this!
10. The Carpenters-Hurting Each Other
There was only one Karen Carpenter! Though she was not well physically, her voice brought you to a different place, emotionally. She sang like no other! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVKAPL9idD8
9. Connie Talbot-Ave Marie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-52ZBHL4K1o&feature=BF&list=PL68993D44E1F175DB&index=7 The voice that this little girl has blows my mind. She never seems to think of herself as special in any of the interviews either, and yes, she is only a fourth grader!
8. Charlotte Church- O Holy Night
Charlotte can hit the high notes, and she put a new spin on this old classic! One of my favorite Carols. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRqycwRFWuc
7. Abba -Fernando
When you think about matching the lyrics with the voices of Abba's two Sirens, how could this be left off the list? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQsjAbZDx-4
6. Roberta Flack- Killing me softly
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1eOsMc2Fgg Just listen to how gentle and soft her voice is.Who was more captivating than Roberta? "The Closer I Get To You" would have been here had a man not sang part of it solo. She is still amazing live!
5. Juice Newton- Angel of the Morning
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8G_Di5O0L4g There were many versions of this, but only one is unforgettable. Close to being a one hit wonder, the angelic Juice had so much power, passion, and beauty, that she personified femininity.
4. Nozze De Figaro-Flemming and Bartoli
Morgan Freeman said it best in Shaw Shank, when he said that their voices freed every man at Shaw Shank...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLtqZewjwgA Renee Fleming is amazing
3. Witney Houston- I Will Always Love You
Any list like this that would leave off Whitney would automatically discredit itself. Listen to how beautiful her voice was! This is the remembered version. This was almost tied for first place. No disrespect to Dolly Parton, but Whitney stopped the whole world with her version of this smash hit! It was also hard to leave out her version of The National Anthem, and Do You Hear What I Hear. She did justice to covers like no one else! Whitney will never be forgotten.
2. Enya- Only Time
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0NoHN1TU5I&list=PL68993D44E1F175DB&index=4&playnext=1 I remember Nine Eleven every time I hear this! It brought our country such comfort.
1. Sarah Brightman-Time To Say Goodbye
Only one could make it to this spot. Sarah Brightman should not surprise anyone. It was hard to decide the order of the top few, but Sarah just does so much with her voice and I do not think she will ever be appreciated as much as she should be.

I hated to leave some songs off, but that is how it is when you do a list. The Sundays, and Denyce Graves almost made it. Lady Gaga did not! Sorry.
Now that you know what I think, let's have your opinion!
- The 12 Best Opera Singers of all Times
Thank you for reading this list! It has been read over 1,000 times, and you are helping to get it read 1,000 more times! Out of all of the lists I have done, this was the toughest! Number 1 is a no brainer....
- The best golden oldies!
At the end of the rainbow is a Golden Oldie! Here are the best! - The best songs sung by Opera Singers.
Though it has peeked it's head in to mainstream music, Opera has been its own unique genre, with a certain following. Americans have warmed up to Opera, thanks to Charlotte Church, Grace Brumby, Lanza, and...

Great hub and the Carpenters were one of my favorites back i the day, Karen's voice was so beautiful sweet and innocent.
MikeSyrSutton, nice of you to put this hub together. You can add Jackie Evancho to the list -- she's 10 years old and appeared on America's Got Talent this year. She almost won -- glorious opera voice.
On your list, Whitney Houston is my fav and Celine Dion is out of sight! Great Job. I will bookmark this.
Nice hub and I love a lot of the songs you've listed here. Thanks for sharing.
Although I am American, I do like to follow. The BRITS ON BGOT XFACTOR. my granddaughter and I got in touch with Connie on her Myspace. She's got a phenomenal voice.
I love your choice of singers, especially Connie Talbot. Connie is one amazing young girl, with a amazing voice.
Sarah Brightman's 'Con te reparto' (Time to say goodbye) is a great choice for no.1
you should listen to Hollie Steel . she should also be in the list , she has the most pure flawless voice i have ever heard in any classical soprano .
Great topic - you just gave me some great music to load to my iPod! Cheers Mel
Great list! It is always a challenge to narrow down the greats as you did for a list like this.
Ahhhh...Enya! Happy you brought her back to my mind! Good hub!
Connie Talbot is magic. I know Jackie Evancho was mention. I agree with your reason. My opinion is that she is good, but doesn't have the IT or X Factor that Connie does. Connie brings a teary eye to all.

Beautiful choices, Mike, I like them all. Particularly the 6-year old, Connie Talbot. Unbelievable voice. Thanks for compiling this.
